A wonderland of basic isaan food
Oh, here it is the last month of the year and it seems we're in the same old basic, but delicious rut here in isaan. Somtam, I probably have it 4 times a week and chicken just as much if not more. BBQ pork in one from or another is another staple. Vegetables in spurts , I really enjoy the grilled eggplant and even mixed grilled or boiled veg.
Enjoy the album of some of the places and meals in ecember in isaan.

Menu Neua Restaurant an Isaan Food Moment
Menu Neau is just about 1 year old now, a new place on Beung Kaen Nakhon and I have been a customer since they opened. The thing, or one of the many, is it is family and local orineted. Some nights the old guys, my age will sit for hours nibbling and si and otherspping from the bottle of Johny Walker or Thai whiskey.
During Songkran past it really became Isaan Live Headquarters. The Tourism Authority of Thailand directs westerners to what is called Soi Khao Ngiaow for the holiday It is in Khon Kaen near the major hotels away from the beung where songkran is celebrated by families, sort of old style. The restaurant was a great place to watch cars and people and many many families taking a break for a meal as can be seen in this post and others like the video happy hips. The food is good and the service is Isaan style. So find out for yourself at Menu Neua on Beung Kaen Nakhon in Isaan

On a Sunday morning she and her assistant go on non stop from 0600 to noon, or the early to bed folks to the truly hung over Thats and gg and a half, plus plenty of meet and noodles. 15 years ago the price was 15baht, it has now jumped to 25 baht for a huge portion.
